Craft Club is a program designed to reignite the wonders of nature to children through unique outdoor experiences. This on-going series rotates activities, curriculum, and menu based on the seasons, which inspires a stronger connection with the Earth. Natural play spaces encourage children to understand their physical environment while promoting growth and self identity as a part of the greater world. Our interactive programming invites youth to create art with natural materials, engage with diverse plant life, and participate in seasonal folk craft.
What to Expect:
Children are introduced to a variety of activities led by our farm crew. You are at your leisure to visit the program stations, Children's Garden, and lunch at any time during business hours. We recommend setting aside three hours to enjoy the program of events and additional farm amenities.
Each participating child receives a nature lantern to take home, bag of gemstones, ice cream and lunch with purchase of ticket. Please wear close toed shoes and appropriate attire for this outdoor program.
Farm organic cucumber and tomato croissant tea sandwich. Summer berry and apple fruit salad with honey-lime dressing. Blackberry shrub lemonade and ice cream. Outside food is permitted but no cooking on premiss. We ask that you please pack out whatever you bring in.
Pre-purchased reservations are required for children, ages 4-12. No reservations required for adults, teens and infants, see admission below. Limited spaces are available, so we encourage you to book early.
Child Admission: $50.00, (ages 4-12)
Free Admission to adults, teens and infants.
Parents: Adults are responsible for the behavior of their children and are required to supervise and stay with them at all times during their visit to Stone Soup Farm & Heritage Orchard.
Inspired by summer campouts, our featured craft is creating nature lanterns. We'll use glass jars as our vessels and decorate with pressed flowers and foliage from the farm. Children can select from a wide variety of plants to decorate their lanterns and learn some fun plant fact.
Our Children's Garden has several interactive play spaces for kids to engage in creative play. This garden invites kids to create art with natural materials, discover miniature landscapes, and play among woodland structures. Gemstone panning is the highlighted activity for this portion of the program, offering light water play while exploring geoscience.
There is nothing better than creamy ice cream on a hot summer day. Using our traditional machine, we will measure out ingredients and hand-churn ice cream for an afternoon treat. Kids will have an opportunity to learn about this popular warm weather dessert with a sweet reward for their hard work.
